Ableism forms and informs every systemic oppression that exists. This SpeakOut Ed Talk seeks to ground movements in disability justice.

Educator and activist Talila "TL" Lewis explores past and present links between racism, classism, (cis)sexism, ableism and other forms of systemic oppression.

Specifically, this session will contextualize and explore the racist-ableist roots of eugenics, white supremacy, enslavement, institutionalization and incarceration, among other systems, so participants can identify how disability and ableism are implicated and/or excluded from their work.
